PROTON EXORA

As an offering, this one must surely rank as an absolute highlight for a company that has well and truly come back from the ropes. Indeed, it’s all the more impressive given the fact that it’s unchartered waters that’s being treaded.

Say hello then to the Proton Exora, the country’s first fully homegrown MPV. As the third part of the great comeback, following on the successes of the Persona and Saga, the vehicle - developed from design to completion in 18 months and at a cost of RM450mil - is quite a sterling showpiece, and essentially completes the circle of reinvention for the brand.

The Proton Exora was officially launched tonight at the KLCC by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.Bits of the exterior are familiar, yes.The seven-seater MPV enters the market in two iterations, the 1.6l AT Medium-line and 1.6l AT High-line. Both variants are equipped with a four-speed automatic gearbox, which features a retuned transmission control unit and a revised final drive. Roomy it is, inside. There's plenty of kit and gizmos on this one, which is priced at RM69,998 for the Medium-Line and RM75,998 for the High-Line (both on-the-road, without insurance).

RK. Lepas pelancaran semalam, sempat jugak singgah di SAIKAT dan melihat sendiri Exora. My opinion memang worth it for money. You pay RM75K dan you dah dapat semuanya. So sapa-sapa yang nak beli, cepat-cepat la jumpa Iqbal di SAIKAT. Lu pk la sendiri.
